Thinking of making a change?
Charter Housing is looking for people to be part of a pioneering housing scheme in Newport.
In August last year we announced a plan to include a co-operative housing scheme within our new Garden Village development in Newport. This is an exciting opportunity for people to begin investing in owning a home and form a special community.
The co-operative will be offering a mix of 1,2,3 and 4 bedroom flats and houses which will be available for shared ownership. People buy a share in their own home and pay a rent on the remainder. This modern approach to co-operative living gives people the option of having as much community and privacy as they want plus the great advantage of lower monthly housing costs when compared to renting privately.
Charter housing will support members of this co-operative to explore all sorts of innovative ways to create a safe and caring neighbourhood and to save more money on the cost of running their homes.
Jill Stringfellow, Charter Housing’s Co-operative Housing Development Officer, said “we are looking for people who want to build a place with a strong sense of community and are ready to make a personal and financial investment in their own home.”
