Individuals and communities in South Wales are benefiting from Charter's continued investment into trainee and apprenticeship schemes.
Daniel Dawes is one of five apprentices currently employed by Charter 'Customer Focused Maintenance' (CFM) team, gaining on-site experience with CFM's contract partner Quadron Services whilst studying for formal qualifications. Daniel is a talented brick layer who, on the completion of his NVQ Level 3 next year, will become a fully certified tradesperson.
Gavin Cook and Shaun Watkins are also well on their way to becoming trade professionals under CFM's scheme. The two 19-year olds from Cwmbran are budding electricians and have received glowing reports from CW Electrical, the company they are presently training with.
One of the key objectives for Charter CFM was to invest in the local workforce and wider community, addressing the current and future skills shortage in the area and thus secure the continued delivery of our maintenance service whilst investing in our local community. At present we employ 5 apprentices who all live within the communities Charter operates in.
As opportunities arise to employ other apprentices, we would very much like Charter tenants to apply for this position. CFM's future commitment to such schemes will include further investment and provision of training programmes. They will be made available to tenants and the wider community via the 'Contact' magazine and Charter's website.
