At Charter, we pride ourselves on providing a comprehensive range of landlord services across Newport, Torfaen, Monmouthshire and Caerphilly. Our Community investment team is committed to working with partners by using what resources we have to build confidence and skills and in unlocking the potential of people who face disadvantage. We are passionate about equality and this post, which will have an equality and community cohesion remit, will ensure that the diversity of our communities is recognised.
Starting a Community Computer Initiative; Developing an Accessible Housing Project; Setting up a Social Enterprise Centre; these are just three of the projects we have been involved with. We raised a total of £1.25m to fund projects such as these and all involved working in partnership.
In joining our team, you will well organised, self motivated and able to use your initiative. You will contribute to and be responsible for project planning and management. You will demonstrate a successful track record in project development and this won't be the first time you've been able to secure funding and resources for your ideas or managed them successfully.
With excellent communication and interpersonal skills and your ability to build a great rapport, you'll quickly foster relationships with both our customers and the organisations that can make things happen in their communities. In fact, you're the type of person who leaves whoever you meet thinking that anything is possible. These softer skills are also complemented by your ability to write clear and persuasive proposals and reports. You will use your IT skills to manage budgets and in performance monitoring and evaluation.
You will have line management responsibility and will be part of our 'more than managing' group for operational managers. This will be key to your personal development and in building on your existing supervision, management and coaching skills.
You will need a full driving licence with use of a vehicle for work and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Criminal Records Bureau.
