Our Local Tenant Participation Strategy gets the thumbs up
Last year we submitted our Local Tenant Participation Strategy (LTPS), called ‘Moving Forward Together‘ to the Welsh Government. Our LTPS explains how we involve tenants in what we do to help improve our services.
The Tenant Participation Advisory Service for Wales (TPAS Cymru) were commissioned by the Welsh Government to carry out a desktop review of all the LTPS’s in Wales. The purpose of the assessment was to enable further development and improvement in tenant participation, by learning from good practice and lessons learnt by others.
Our strategy was assessed on whether we had clear intentions for our tenant involvement activities, whether we demonstrated effective approaches and methods and whether our action plan linked to our purposes.
Each section was marked out of three with one being good, two being satisfactory and three being scope for improvement. On ten of the sections we scored one or two and only scored a three on two sections relating to our outcomes from tenant participation.
We will be reviewing our action plan in the Autumn and in preparation have invited John Drysdale, Director of TPAS Cymru to carry out a workshop on customer focused outcomes with staff and tenants.
