Charter’s Money Savers win top energy saving award

At the recent Feel the Heat 2010 awards held in Cardiff, Andrew Desmond and Mike Rosser from Charter’s Money Savers team, scooped a top award and £4,000 worth of funding for a new energy saving project that will benefit Charter tenants.

Andrew, seen above receiving the award from Jane Davidson AM, said “We are so pleased to have won. Our aim is to help around 100 tenants to avoid fuel poverty”.

Utility MOT, launched this winter, is a joint initiative between SWALEC and National Energy Action, a charity working to combat fuel poverty. The funding will allow Utility MOT to install energy saving devices into the homes of Charter tenants, allowing them to make smarter energy choices and save money. Mike and Andrew will be on hand to offer advice on the best utility tariffs, discounts and energy providers available to tenants.

Fellow Money Saver Mike said, “Keeping warm is something that many people take for granted, but some people struggle to do this. Tenants looking for help and advice can book a personal visit or request a DIY self-help pack”.
