Better Services Panel attend valuable Scrutiny Network meeting
Our Better Services Panel makes a real difference to the services we deliver. Made up of both tenants and staff, they work together to carefully examine how a service is being delivered and aim to identify what is being done well and what can be improved.
The Scrutiny Network event provides the opportunity for panels like ours to share experiences and learn from each other. The network, which brings together scrutiny panels from across South East Wales, was held at Bron Afon and was enjoyed by our own Better Services Panel.
With discussion taking place on impact, independence and communication, the Better Services Panel were able to learn valuable lessons from speaker Linda Levin, a consultant who works across the UK and who specialises in scrutiny. The panel further gained important insight as they listened to the experiences of other panels.
Louise Davies, Support Services Manager, is one of our staff members on the Panel, she said “I have enjoyed working with tenants to improve the way we deliver our services. The Scrutiny Network meeting was helpful as it enabled us to see how other panels and housing associations work.”
The Better Services Panel returned from the meeting encouraged by the great work others are doing, and excited to continue with their current review of estates maintenance.
Samantha Lewis, tenant member of the Better Services Panel, enjoyed the network meeting; “It was nice to see that there are lots of success stories about how panels have made changes, it can be challenging but it’s nice to see the impact panels like ours are making. It was really nice to meet together. I took a lot from the meeting.”
