Changes to some of the rules for Bedroom Tax
The Government has recently made some changes to the rules for the bedroom tax for people who are foster carers, in the armed forces or have disabled children.
- Foster carers will be allowed an additional room even if they are between placements.
- Parents who have a child in the armed forces who still lives with them when not on service will also be allowed an extra room.
- Local Authorities will allow an extra bedroom for children who are unable to share because of their severe disabilities.
If you think you will be effected by any of these changes, please contact the Housing Benefit Section in your area.
